The error is related to finding and using your Firefox default profile. Patch1 will enhance the error message to include where it thinks the default profile is. This should give us more of a clue as to whats wrong.

2008 Sep 10, 10:54PMTony said...I've uploaded Patch2 which hopefully resolves the profile issue. I think the problem is that I was assuming a default profile would be specifically indicated, and this is not the case.
The patch adds a profile selector that will default to the default if there is one. It now also searches for Thunderbird and SeaMonkey profiles.
It also logs the paths it looks for profiles to help us debug if there are still issues.
Please send me feedback if this resolves the issues so I can fold the patches into a new release.

Select File->Import From->Import KeePass XML
Select the file to be imported (as prepared just before, e.g., "KP-IN.XML")
Follow the instructions
I installed the FF converter plugin into the KeyPass Program folder. Inside the ClockWork folder I have the following:
A folder called 'Gecko';
Inside that folder, I have another folder called 'bin' and in there, I have five .dll's;
In the ClockWork folder, I have the following:
ClockWork.exe and the 2 ClockWork .dll's and the ConvertFFXML.vbs
After following your instruction to the letter, I cannot access 'Import KeePass XML' from the FILE Menu. That is, it is not an option for me to access.
I go get 'keypass successfully saved', but I don't get the option to get to Import to KeyPassXML.
Help please. Thanks in advance for your reply.

If you generating any files, could you check their content to see if the passwords are ***** there.

I've created Patch5 which should help you.
Because you have the Portable Firefox my application does not know where to find the profiles file.
I have added a "Load More Profiles" button. Click this then search for FireFox's profiles.ini file on your portable device. Select that and you should then be able to see your profiles.
I've hopefully fixed the exception and switched on logging for the patch.

I've downloaded:
ClockWork-FFtoKP-2.05c
ClockWork-FFtoKP-Source-2.05c
Patch5
Keepass XML Importer Plugin
I unzipped them all and placed them in my Program Files/keypass folder.
I executed the ClockWork.KeePass.Firefox.Converter and created an XML file. When I open KeePass and click to File/Import From there is no XML option available. Also Firefox does not appear in this list. When I go to Tools/Plugins, I see that the XML Importer is disabled, but there doesn't seem to be any way to enable it.
Can someone help me? I like the idea of KeePass keeping all my passwords under lock and key instead of letting Firefox hang onto them for everyone to see, but I'm no IT specialist and I spend hours and hours trying to figure out some of the simplest stuff.
Any help is appreciated. Thnx.
