New Zealand

Sky Tower
Nellie's first stop was Auckland where the kind Nomads crew has arranged for him to stay at The Fat Camel. Unfortunately, this place had a bar, which set the scene for the whole trip!
While climbing the local flora in Auckland Nellie noticed a far of "pointy thing", he had to conquer it.
Once atop, Nellie experienced a sunrise (Tequila style).

Rotorua Guyser Continuing his adventures, Nellie traveled to Rotorua to meet some geezers.
Here, Nellie became an international tribal leader and visited a local Maori tribe. Nellie accepted the taki (dart) and rubbed some noses in the greeting ceremony. He was then treated to traditional songs and dances including the haka and a grand Hangi (meal)

Any trip to New Zealand is incomplete without checking out the local sheep and eating some lamb shanks. Nellie found the rare giant sheep and the long necked sheep of Agrodome.

Chile
In Santiago, Nellie found the excellent Andes Hostel as a home base. Having taken in far too much culture in NZ, he decided to spend his time here drinking Pisco Sours (local hard liqueur drink), practicing Salsa (the dance not the food) and chasing a nice ass...

In Madrid Nellie stayed with a nice old lady and her poodle by Plaza Santa Anna. Time was spent here buying beers to get free tapas, eating cured ham and having siestas. Between bars, cafes and discos he did manage to get to the Prada museum to see some picasso paintings.
Then off to Seville (Sevilla), a lovely town with a maze of cobbled streets full of cafes. The ritual here is to have a beer and tapa in a cafe, while working out which cafe to go to next. It's a hard life!
Seville also has a Bull Ring, and in the Hemingway tradition, Nellie attended a fight. The final score was 6-0 with 2 ears awarded.

A day was spent in Granada to see the 8th wonder of the world, The Alhambra. Well that's what the residents of Granada say!

First stop Sheffield, a place of beautiful views, terraced houses and silver balls (smaller than Adelaide's silver balls!). Also the location of the first ever Reggae Karaoke bar.

Some culture was had as well. A day touring Japanese gardens in the pouring rain (with an umbrella). A trip to the lotus leaf pond and national museum in Ueno and a walk round the temples in Asakusa.

Hong Kong
'Ley-ho' to Kowloon. Nellie found the cool "Hair of the Dog" bar in Tsim Sha Tsui an area of bars and street vendors selling some very interesting food. Nellie's favourite was fried little birds on a stick...Mmmm. Nellie also had a close call when a local thought that he was on the menu.

It was a short ferry ride across to Hong Kong central, A place for city views and shopping. This was not Nellie's thing so he ended up hanging out in a bar in Wanchai drinking happy hour beers and watching the strippers across the street.

'Tom Boy' (or was it 'com poy') to the Hair of the Dog crew.
And that was it for Nellie's world tour.
